Villa Homeowners Association
Dear Homeowners,
The Board has been informed that on Friday, 31 May, around 5:30 PM, four teen-aged kids were observed swimming in the north end of the HOA’s waterway, which is located at the point Whiff and Colchester meet. The teenagers were also seen departing the area and walking down Colchester (no car with towels in hand).
Please be advised, all waterways within the HOA are posted as Private, No Fishing or Swimming permitted. Although the Association has allowed fishing by homeowners and their immediate family members, swimming is absolutely forbidden due to safety, health and liability concerns.
The Board strongly urges all homeowners to make sure their family members, visiting relatives and friends, are aware of this restriction. The banks of the waterway are very steep, the water extremely cold, and the depth of the waterway is significant in places with numerous dangerous objects on the bottom and on the banks (such as large rocks, etc.). In addition the water contains significant amounts of pollutants which are unhealthy if swallowed or should they come in contact with eyes, ears, etc.
We appreciate your attention to this matter and ask if you know who the teenagers are that they are informed of the restriction and the hazards they were facing by swimming in the waterway.
Thank you.
