Villa Homeowners Association
Elected to two year terms were Lyle Capstick, Suzanne Craig and Trish Trader. Terry Bowman and Robere Kazadi will fill one year terms. At the 2009 annual meeting, only two board members will need to be elected.
The new board will meet for the first time Monday, April 14th at 7pm at the Banbury Sales Office, Mary Post and Oakhampton. At that time officers will be elected, meeting dates will be set for 2008 and the two new board members will be oriented about contracts, projects, insurance, etc. As always homeowners are welcome.
Seven homeowner volunteers agreed to run for the five open seats for the 2008-2009 Board of Directors of Banbury Meadows Homeowners’ Association. Terry Bowman, Kelly Kalleen-Berka, Linda Scafetta and Trish Trader threw their hats into the ring with incumbents Lyle Capstick, Suzanne Craig and Robere Kazadi. Wayne King and Ken Baranco, 2007-2008 board members, declined to run for another term.
Wayne King was one of the first non-developer homeowners to serve on the board. He served for three years, two of those as Treasurer. This year, he decided not to run again. Ken Baranco, a one term board member, sited family obligations as his reason for not running this year, although he hopes he will be able to run again in the future. Ken served as Secretary of the board this past year.
One of the seven candidates, Terry Bowman, graduated from high school in Pocatello. From there he went to Columbia College and the US Naval PG School, becoming a Naval Officer. After retiring from the Navy, he worked for Micron, the State of Idaho and was the owner of Oakley Electronics. Recently retired from Lockheed Martin Corp, he returned to Eagle to join his wife in their 4 year old home on Oakhampton.
Lyle Capstick said he appreciated the resident of Banbury Meadows for giving him the opportunity to serve as a member of the board this past year. He felt the board worked well together and operated effectively and he asked to continue for the coming year. He and his wife JoAnne live on Oakhampton.
Suzanne Craig has served on the board for two years, both years as president. She says she got involved in our neighborhood business because there were some problems that needed solving and she thought she could help. She and her husband Larry have lived on Oakhampton in Banbury Meadows for 4 years.
Kelly Kalleen Berka has been a resident on Colchester since December 2001. She believes this to be one of the greatest subdivisions in the area. From the beginning Kelly was the real estate editor of the newsletter and a regular contributor to that publication. She has been on other BODs. She is currently a real estate agent and has represented Eagle and Banbury properties. She felt that her knowledge of our golf course community would be a great asset to the Banbury BOD.
Robere Kazadi has served on the Banbury BOD for two years, the past year as Vice President. He is interested in the relationship the BOD has with the golf course management as well as the overall well being of our community. He has worked hard to see that a regular routine is established to keep the pond clean and to improve the common areas. He and his wife and children live on Whitehaven Place.
Linda Scafetta lives on Colchester, moving here 4 years ago with husband John. She had worked for the Bank of the West in California for 20 years. She said she wanted to run for the board because she believes it is important to be involved in the association. She has served in various positions in golf and bowling leagues and knows the value of a group working together for all of its members.
Trish Trader and her husband Ken moved to Idaho from California two years ago. Originally from Pennsylvania, Trish has moved extensively around the world, both during and after her tour in the US Air Force. She earned her Bachelor of Accountancy degree from George Washington University in Washington DC and made her career as a financial analyst and accountant. She served on the Banbury Meadows ARC in 2007. She is also an active member of the German/American Edelweiss Club of Boise.
